Lauren Crosslin is a dancer, teacher, and creative that was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee where she grew up dancing and building a foundation of jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and modern. In 2018, she graduated from Nashville School of the Arts where she trained for four years under the direction of Stacie Flood-Popp and Debra Perry. At NSA, she was presented with the opportunity to work with well known choreographers Erica Sobol, Teddy Tedholm, Andre Fuentes, Morgan Burke, Justin Conte, and Lukas van der Fecht. At 18, she self-choreographed and produced her first full-length show “behind the gesture”. In 2018, Lauren also debuted their work at Big River Dance Festival and RAD Fest Dance Festival.
Since moving to New York City, Lauren was invited to work with Teddy Tedholm, and be a part of his company tedted Performance Group. With tedted Performance Group, she’s traveled with the company and collaborated on “95 poems”, “The Vision in Eight Parts”, and “Blue Horizon”. In 2021, Lauren trained with Judith McCarty, dancing with her company, Afro-Afriqué. With Afro-Afriqué she’s had the opportunity to perform at the African Entertainment Awards and be featured on the cover of Dancegeist Magazine. Lauren has performed in many venues across the city performing the works of artists Andrea Ward, Melinda Matticoli, Alexa Luke, Chaz Ryan, and J.Venus Productions. Through the Luminous Tour, Lauren was able to work with and assist choreographers Mary Grace McNally, Em Greenwell, Carlos Neto, Rob Bynes, Christina Carminucci, Gabriella Sibeko, and more.
Lauren first debuted their choreography in NYC with their company CROSS THE LINE dance company for Arts on Site’s ‘Performance Party’. Since then, she’s had the pleasure of creating work for Bridge for Dance’s ‘Uptown Rising’, ‘ESTIA Day Festival’, ‘Vida Dance Festival’, and returned to Arts on Site’s ‘Performance Party’. Lauren has proudly been teaching dance across the Tri-State Area since 2021 for children ages 4-18. Lauren is DEEA certified and passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space for students to learn, build confidence, and find their voice. She looks forward to continuing to connect with the dance community, and how it inspires the evolution of her creative process. They are always trying to find new ways to expand their knowledge and challenge herself artistically. Lauren is very grateful for every opportunity and person she’s been able to connect with through dance thus far, and looks forward to what is next in her journey.
